1. Salt and water
All you need to do is to mix glass of water with half a tablespoon of salt. Now drink the mixture and keep it in your mouth, and make gargle. Do this procedure couple of times daily and the irritation or burning feeling in the throat will be gone.

Today on the market we can find throat tablets which are intended to be dissolved slowly in the mouth (by licking them) to temporarily stop coughs and lubricate and soothe irritated tissues of the throat. Your oral cavity will be less dry because when you lick throat tablets you secrete more saliva.
With the same ingredients and antiseptic effect there are also some sprays.
3. Syrup
In order to prevent next stages of your condition, when you start coughing start using syrup right away.
4. Drink plenty of fluids
We lose more water from our bodies when we have bacterial or viral infection. If you are coughing and sneezing then you waste water by literally spewing it out of your mouth and nose, if you have a fever your body sweats a lot to cool itself down. This are some of the reasons why you should drink more fluids than usual if you start getting sick. If you don’t drink more fluids there is a big chance for dehydration.
5. Tea
Tea instead of coffee is always a good choice. But always try to choose natural teas, so try to take herbal teas from mountains. They will boost your immune system and it will help you to prevent dehydration.
6. Chicken soup
In case you have sore throat, you can damage it more with eating some foods, that is why eating soup with pieces of diced chicken is always the best meal when you have this problem. Always try to consume the soup hot because that way you will eliminate the pain. Another good reason why you should consume soup is that soup has sodium (very good anti-inflammatory agent).
7. Rest
Rest is needed so the body can ‘’charge up’’ with energy and to recover strength because it is using it now more than usual because of the infection.
8. Antibiotic
Never take antibiotic without first consulting with your doctor.
9. Nutrition
Vegetables and fruits should be on your daily menu, especially when you have some kind of infection.
